Coarse Fishing

Northern Ireland

Rivers such as the Tay, Tweed and the Spay in Scotland have long been known for the excellence of their fishing, but there are rivers in Northern Ireland that are their equal if not their superior, and yet they are unknown and unfished by foreign fishermen. These Rivers are the River Bann and the River Foyle known to local fisherman as 'Fishing's best kept secret'. The Tributaries surge from deep within the heart of Ireland until they flow into the North Atlantic. Every year tens of thousands of fish run these waters making them some of the richest fishing rivers in Europe. Whether you are looking for a days relaxation by a peaceful lake or river or you are a serious enthusiast in search for that prize winning fish, Ireland's waterways offer an abundance of fish amidst wonderful scenery. The variety of opportunities for the fisherman will keep any angler busy.

You will be based in the historic picturesque town of Coleraine or the famous Port Rush, Giants Causeway or Bush Mills areas (depending on accommodation availability).

You are invited to fish on various locations throughout the beautiful River Bann and its tributaries. We will also obtain permits to fish Lough Beg and Lough Neagh (the largest freshwater Lough in Britain), The River Bann flows some 38 miles from Lough Neagh into the North Atlantic sea entering the sea near the town of Coleraine. The River Bann is a large river being almost 200ft wide along most of its length. And if that is not enough, just a few miles away is a great little treasure of the North Coast, the famous River Bush ( BushMills town is nearby).Famous worldwide for its whiskey. Trips to the Distillery can be arranged.

You will be required to purchase a rod license and appropriate fishing permits prior to fishing.
